Decisions and Commitments

“You make decisions, you live out commitments.” You have made a decision to get your health, fitness, and body composition back on-track; you are not where you want to be, not where you were, and may be frustrated with where you are (hence the resolutions), so you have made a decision to make changes. Constants

No, I am not talking about mathematical constants like Pi and Euclid’s Number, and though they would be interesting talking points philosophically, I will not geek out on you. Yet. I’m talking about constants in your life. Today was not one of my best.  I left the house feeling very defeated and frustrated because I […]

5 Nutritional Tips For Fat-Burning

I’ve taken just over a month off from blogging and am ready to go again! Many questions I am asked on a daily basis while working the floor at the Y or am chatting with a personal training client or friend boil down to the following: “How do I burn excess body fat?” You may […]

The Controllables Versus the Uncontrollables

There are a few words that are commonly misunderstood, but communicate very similar concepts, in the world of women’s strength training.  When talking with women about how they would like their physique to look, I often hear the following: sculpted, toned, shaped, defined, but “not bulky.” What this translates to is: I want to be […]

The “Dieting” Mindset Can Leave You Lacking–In More Than Just Satiety

I have to preface this: you are reading the fruit of hopping on my Facebook Soapbox a few weeks ago about the “dieting” mindset. Who doesn’t love that social networking gives anyone with an opinion the ability to express it…really… “…everybody is on a diet–it’s the foods we choose to partake of. The mindset that […]
